Equality and Sexual Orientation: The leadership challenge for Further Education (Centre for Excellence in Leadership, December 2006)
This research was carried out by Phil Barnett for the Centre for Excellence in Leadership, a founding partner of the Forum. The Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003, and other sexual orientation equality law passed soon after, radically changed the position for lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in the workplace and beyond. Following these changes this was the first highly promoted national level research report into the experience of lesbian, gay and bisexual people in Further Education. Publication of the report led to training initiatives, the formation of the Forum, and to the development of the online resource ‘Visible and Valued’.
